Randy Miller helped lead one of the best men’s basketball teams in Oberlin history during his career. A talented athlete, he also earned varsity letters in soccer and track.

Miller played basketball for all four years at Oberlin and was a starter from his sophomore year on. During his senior year, he co-captained the Yeomen to an Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Championship with fellow hall of fame inductee, Al Wellington. During that season, the team went 16-6, the best Oberlin basketball record of the decade and one of the best in school history. Individually, Miller averaged a solid 13.8 points per game. Despite a weakness in free-throw shooting, he went 13-for-14 in the OAC championship game.

Off the court, Miller majored in English literature and hosted a traditional folk music program on WOBC, the college radio station. Prior to the establishment of the women’s varsity basketball program, Miller was chosen in his senior year to coach in Oberlin’s annual women’s all-star basketball game.

Miller is now self-employed as a graphic artist, musician, and music book publisher. He co-founded Fiddlecase Books in 1973 and became the sole owner in 1985. Fiddlecase has published several books, including the most recent New England Fiddler’s Repertoire in 2008. He also coaches soccer and basketball at the local middle school and high school in Alstead, New Hampshire.
