GUIDING PRINCIPLES

The Heisman Club Hall of Honor has been created as a means to recognize those individuals who have helped advance the goals of the athletics and physical education department in the areas of varsity and recreational sports and health & wellness, regardless of their personal athletics achievements. The Heisman Club Hall of Honor allows the College another avenue to perpetuate the memory of those persons who have brought distinction, honor, and excellence to Oberlin College Athletics.

The Oberlin College Athletic Department's Heisman Club Hall of Honor Award was created to develop positive relationships between the department of athletics and its alumni, staff, students, and friends. The goal is to recognize distinguished alumni, past and present staff, and volunteers for their contributions to our student-athletes and campus community. The purpose is to award their achievements and significance to the wonderful heritage of student-athletes at one of the world's top liberal arts institutions. It is the hope of the Club that this program will positively influence the future goals of present Oberlin student-athletes by making them more aware of what they can achieve after their collegiate athletic careers end.
