Dr. David Eisner participated in multiple varsity sports during his four years as a student-athlete at Oberlin College. However, he is most fond of being a four-year letter-winner on the men's swimming and diving team and he still competes as a master's swimmer on a national level. He graduated from Oberlin in 1969 with a degree in mathematics. After serving in the U.S. Navy conducting military intelligence for the National Security Agency, Eisner earned a medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University and did anesthesia residency with a Harvard affiliated program. Eisner went on to practice and teach medicine at Emory University. After retiring from practicing medicine, he continued to teach at the University of Georgia. A Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology, he was also the Director of the Premedical Studies Program at Georgia before retiring. Â
