Oberlin, Ohio
- In a lengthy match against Ashland University on Wednesday evening the Oberlin College women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 setback.

The Ashland University Eagles came out screaming earning wins in all three doubles matches. The Oberlin College partnerships of Kelly Sipp and Olivia Hayden at No. 1 and Ariel Lewis and Finley Gates in the No. 2 spot pushed hard but fell by identical scores, 8-5.

The Yeowomen who fall to 3-2 during their spring campaign did a little digging and came up with a couple wins during singles action.

First-year No. 1 Lewis continues to impress as she notched her fifth straight win this spring as the Yeowomen's top hitter. She dealt Ashland's Orozco a 6-1, 6-4 defeat.

Earning wins at the No. 1 and No. 6 singles slots Head coach Constantine Ananiadis noted, “We came out strong to start singles play after a pretty slow start losing all three doubles matches”.

The other bright sport for OC Wednesday night was fellow freshman Gates who was able to secure a victory winning a super tiebreaker 10-5 in the third set after she and Ashland's Ware split the first two sets by identical scores, 7-5.

Oberlin will be in action again on Saturday with matches against Case Western Reserve University at 9 a.m. and in the afternoon they meet Otterbein College at 3 p.m.
