Crimson and Gold Conclude Season in NCAC Semifinal

Gambier, Ohio – Returning to the North Coast Athletic Conference Semifinal round for the second straight year, the fourth-seeded Oberlin College women's tennis team fell 4-0 to top-ranked Kenyon, who is also ranked at No. 14 in the national standings.

Hannah Soong and Freya Rahm teamed up on court one but ultimately fell 6-0 to Kenyon's Eleni Lazaridou and Hana Nouaime. Rachel Allen and Scarlett Kingston won two games at No. 2, although the Owls halted their momentum to seize the 6-2 victory and doubles point. Stella Kollmansberger and Olivia Wollner won a game on court three, as their 5-1 match remained unfinished with the doubles point secured.

At No. 1, Kollmansberger won two early points in her first set but fell on the wrong end of the 6-2, 6-0 scoreline. Kingston followed shortly after on court two, halting her opponent from securing a sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 finish. Eva Lopez battled at No. 4, winning a trio of games, although the Owls' Shadia AmadoAguad clinched the match 6-1, 6-2.

With the match secured for Kenyon, Allen was unable to complete her match on court three. Falling 6-1 in the first set, Allen administered some pressure on Nouaime, jumping out to a 3-0 start. Nouaime posted the next four points as the match ended unfinished at 4-3.

"It was a wonderful season. I saw a lot of growth in each of our players, and we really demonstrated our ability to compete as one," Head Coach Magda Stepnik adds. "We consistently took advantage of the opportunities in front of us and will build on this success next year."

Finishing their 2026 campaign 14-6, the Crimson and Gold produced their winningest season since the 2017-18 season, when they went 16-9 and their first winning record since the 2021-22 season. Oberlin recorded their highest win percentage at .700 in 14 years since the 2011-12 season, when their 19-6 record delivered a .760 win percentage.

With no seniors on the team, the Crimson and Gold return their entire 10-person roster to the 2026-27 season in addition to their incoming first-year class.
