Summary

Biography

Steve Holmes is an attorney in private practice  in Texas.   His areas of expertise have generally involved representing clients in corporate, securities, real estate and oil and gas related matters.
When he is not working, he enjoys off-road bicycling in the Dallas area and camping in state parks where he can enjoy a more rugged experience of off-road bike trails.  He also enjoys time with family that now includes 2 grandchildren.
Steve was at Oberlin when the Heisman Club was formed.  He says he has enjoyed watching it evolve from “nothing” to a force in the Oberlin community.  Since his experience as an athlete (football and rugby) provided him with some of the most memorable experiences and most meaningful friendships while at Oberlin, he has seized the opportunity to sustain that experience for the next generation of Oberlin athletes.
Steve has lots of memories from his days at Oberlin.  This is one of them:
'During my freshman year, we wound up with 16 guys on the football team.  Most of us played offense and defense and never left the field after the game started.  We managed to beat Kenyon College in Gambier, OH, near the end of the season and as a result, 1 of the morning national news shows (Good Morning America or the Today Show) came to campus and did a piece on the team.

My sister living in Colorado at the time got to see me getting my ankle wrapped before practice! "
