Tempe, Arizona – The Oberlin College women's tennis team earned national recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for their academic excellence.
 
Olivia Guzman, Scarlett Kingston, Gabrielle Kirsch, Eva Lopez, Freya Rahm, and Hannah Soong were all named to the ITA Scholar-Athlete list, while the team earned All-Academic accolades.
 
The Crimson and Gold finished with a 3.67 GPA with two scholar-athletes boasting a 4.0 GPA. Oberlin was among seven North Coast Athletic Conference schools to earn this honor.
 
"I'm really proud of our scholar-athletes for the care and effort they put into their academics. Balancing college athletics with a challenging academic workload isn't easy, and this recognition reflects the commitment they show every day." Head Coach Magda Stepnik continued, "I love seeing them genuinely passionate about what they're learning and proactive in seeking out opportunities to challenge themselves beyond the classroom."
 
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above, all scholar-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
