Greenwood, Indiana – Four members of the Oberlin College men's tennis team earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honor roll, as announced by College Sports Communicators.
Shawn Lisann,
Zain Makada,
Enrique Margain, and
Sebastien Naginski were recognized for the Crimson and Gold.
Lisann and Naginski are now two-time CSC Academic All-District honorees, while Makada and Margain earn the award for the first time in their careers.
Lisann, a Mathematics and Financial Economics double-major is a six-time All-NCAC athlete, who led the team from singles court two and doubles court one this season. The senior graduates with 93 wins under his belt, after going 12-13 on singles court and 12-7 in doubles this year.
A Psychology major, Makada went 11-9 in singles this year, splitting time between court two and three. In doubles, the Californian went 10-12 while partnered with Margain for the bulk of the season.
Margain is a Financial Economics and Data Science double-major with a concentration in Statistical Theory and Applications. The junior boasted an impressive 13-5 record in singles, going 10-4 this year at No. 4. In doubles play, Margain paired with
Cameron Weiss and Makada.
A history and Economics double-major with a minor in Fench, Naginski holds a 4.03 GPA and finished the year 7-3 in NCAC singles play. 13-8 overall, the senior went 8-5 at No. 6. In April, he grabbed a key point over No. 4 Denison in 6-3, 2-6, 10-3 fashion.
The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the pitch and in the classroom. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore athletic status and must be in the lineup for 75 percent of an institution's days of competition while maintaining a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average.
