Tempe, Arizona – The Oberlin College men's tennis team earned national recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for their academic excellence.
 
Max Brose, Oliver Faranda, James Foster, Brady Huggett, Rowan Ing, Oliver Knijnenburg, Shawn Lisann, Zain Makada, Enrique Margain, Sebastien Naginski, and Ben Tichauer were all named to the ITA Scholar-Athlete list, while the team earned All-Academic accolades.
 
The Crimson and Gold finished with a 3.75 GPA with two scholar-athletes boasting a 4.0 GPA. Oberlin was among seven North Coast Athletic Conference school to earn this honor.
 
"Earning ITA All-Academic Team honors along with so many individual ITA Scholar-Athlete awards is a tremendous accomplishment for our program."  Head Coach Eric Ishida added, "Our scholar-athletes work incredibly hard to balance the demands of academics and collegiate tennis, and this recognition reflects their commitment, discipline, and support for one another. I'm proud of the standard they've set both in the classroom and on the court."
 
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above, all scholar-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
