Box Score 2 Marietta, Ohio – The Oberlin College volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference matches against Transylvania University and West Virginia University Institute of Technology on day two of the River City Tournament hosted by Marietta College.
The Yeowomen fell to Transylvania by scores of 18-25, 27-25, 14-25, 20-25 and Oberlin dropped the West Virginia Tech match by scores of 22-25, 21-25, 16-25.

Offensively, Sophomore
Lexi Mitchell led the way as she tallied a team-high 14 kills. In addition, junior
Sara Chang and sophomore
Maura Gibbs each finished the game with seven finishes. Sophomore setter
Samantha Lam tallied 23 assists in the three sets she played.
Gibbs and defensive specialist
Emily Kelkar led the way on the defensive side as they each tallied double-digit digs. Gibbs tallied 11 and Kelkar added 10 digs.
West Virginia Tech Recap
In game two, Mitchell and Gibbs led the team offensively. Mithchell earned nine finishes and Gibbs contributed seven kills. Lam set up the two outside hitters with 16 assists.
Defensively, Kelkar contributed a team-high 11 digs to lead the way for the Yeowomen.
