Box Score 2 Wooster, Ohio – The Oberlin College volleyball team found itself on the wrong end of a pair of matches at the Wooster Kilt Classic on Saturday afternoon. Oberlin fell to Albion in straight sets before going the distance against Muskingum.
The Muskies outlasted the Yeowomen 25-12, 15-25, 25-17, 17-25 and 15-9, while the Britons cruised to a 25-20, 25-11 and 25-12 win.

Dana Thomas paced the Oberlin attack with 14 kills, while
Jillian Hostetler added 12 and
Ave Spencer chipped in with nine to go along with 17 digs.
After a lackluster first set, Oberlin hit an impressive .429 in the 25-15 second-set win. The Yeowomen had 15 kills on 28 swings in the game with just three errors.
In the pivotal third set, Oberlin trailed 14-13, but the Muskies pulled awayto take a 2-1 lead in the match. The Yeowomen would respond in the fourth game, opening up a 10-2 lead right from the start as they flipped the script to force a decisive fifth set with a 25-17 win.
In the race to 15, the Yeowomen and Muskies were locked up at 5-5, but a 6-0 Muskies run put Oberlin in a huge deficit that they were unable to overcome.
Meredith Leung assisted on 37 points for Oberlin and added 11 digs, senior
Molly Powers had a match-high 28 digs to go along with a team-best four aces.
The Yeowomen have now dropped four straight matches, falling to 2-7 on the year.
Albion RecapThe Oberlin offense never got going against the Britons, hitting -.131 for the match with 38 attack errors and 24 kills.
Thomas led Oberlin with eight kills, while Thomas added five.
The Yeowomen return home to host Penn State-Fayette on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
