Box Score Columbus, Ohio – The Oberlin College volleyball team dropped a closely contested three-set match at Capital University on Friday night. The Yeowomen fell by the scores of 25-23, 25-22, and 25-20.
Neither team was real fluid on the offensive end as Oberlin had 27 kills and 27 errors, while the Crusaders had 29 kills and 20 errors.
First-year
Claudia Scott led the Yeowomen with eight kills on 25 swings.
Maddy Dunn added seven send-downs in the loss.
On the backline
Molly Powers had 23 digs, while
Meredith Leung also had 12 digs to go along with 15 assists.
While close in all three sets, Oberlin was in catch-up mode in each game and was unable to steal a win.
With the loss, the Yeowomen fell to 4-11 overall, dropping their last five matches.
Oberlin will look to stop the skid when they open up conference play tomorrow afternoon against Ohio Wesleyan University.
