Volleyball Falls at Baldwin Wallace

Berea, Ohio – The Oberlin College volleyball team couldn't keep pace with the high-powered Yellow Jackets of Baldwin Wallace as the Yeowomen fell in straight sets on Wednesday night, 13-25, 18-25 and 17-25.

The OC offense was unable to sustain any consistent momentum against a BW team that won 18 matches a season ago. Christine Antonsen led the attack with five kills to go along with two block assists.

Senior Chinwe Okona guided the defensive unit with 12 digs and also added a service ace in the setback. Sophomore Jenna Bange chipped in with 10 assists and nine digs.

“We got to put this one behind us,” Head Coach Erica Rau said. “BW is a very good team and we need to learn from our mistakes in this match. We are going to return to the practice floor and get ready for our weekend tournament at Earlham.”

The Yeowomen will be in action on Saturday and Sunday in Richmond, Indiana. They will take on Trine and Wilmington on day one, before battling Finlandia and the host Quakers of Earlham on Sunday.
