Oberlin, Ohio- The Oberlin College women's volleyball team lost in three sets to Ohio Wesleyan and Olivet in Delaware, Ohio on Friday night.
In their first match of the day, the Yeowomen lost the first set by the narrow margin of 23-25 to Ohio Wesleyan. The Fighting Bishops were too much for Oberlin in the following two sets, as the Yeowomen lost 18-25 and 19-25.
Senior
Laura Jessee led the Yeowomen with 16 kills, while sophomore
Christine Antonsen followed with seven kills.
First years
Molly Powers and
Shavonne Stanek led Oberlin with 21 and 12 digs, respectively.
Sophomore
Jenna Bange finished the match with 22 assists.
In the second match, Olivet jumped out to a two-set lead over the Yeowomen 25-17 and 25-20. Oberlin narrowly lost the third and final set 23-25.
Sophomore
Emma Kimmel finished the match with 10 kills and seven digs. Powers led for the second time on Friday in digs with 13 in the match.
Bange ended the match with 24 assists.
The Yeowomen's next match is on October 2 when they take on conference opponent Allegheny in Meadville, Pennsylvania at 7 p.m.
