Wooster, Ohio- The Oberlin College women's volleyball team lost both its matches on Sunday at the NCAC Invite that was hosted by Wooster. The two oppenents were NCAC front-runner Wittenberg Tigers and the Allegheny Gators. The scores were 25-27, 8-25, 5-25 (Wittenberg) and 16-25, 12-25, 20-25 (Allegheny).
The women were swept 3-0 in both matches, and continue to struggle to stay competitive throughout the whole match. They have shown signs of promise, playing two different sets in the past two days into 25+ point matches. In the match against Wittenberg
Laura Jessee led the Yeowomen with six kills. Freshman standout
Jenna Bange had 14 assists and was able to add four digs. Senior
Chinwe Okona had five digs.
In their last match of the weekend, the Yeowomen were not able to keep up with Allegheny, and went home with a 0-4 record this weekend. Jessee had eight kills, while
Christine Antonsen led the offensive attack with nine kills. Bange continued her solid play at the setter position, and contributed 27 assists and seven digs.
Emma Kimmel led the team with 12 digs.
The Yeowomen come back home and play Allegheny on Wednesday, October 19th as they continue NCAC play.
