Oberlin, the fourth seed in the NCAC East will prepare to take on the West's probable No. 1 Denison
Final Results

Meadville, Pa. – The Oberlin College men's tennis team concluded regular season competition today with a match against Allegheny College in a North Coast Athletic Conference match-up. The Gators defeated the Yeomen 8-1.

The teams began play with singles action hoping to get in as many matches as possible before the impending wet weather would force the match indoors, fortunately the weather held and the teams concluded the conference action on the hard courts.

Allegheny swept singles action clinching the match before the Yeomen would put their lone win in the scorebook.

Sam Towne fought hard in the No. 5 slot to even the match with Evan Gordon at a set apiece with a 6-4 second set win and would fall just short in the super tiebreaker 10-8.

Alex Bonfiglio defeated OC's No.1, Ben Godlove, in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.

Godlove would bounce back when he partnered with Ben Turchin at the No. 1 doubles spot. The Yeomen duo would defeat Jacob Allmaras and Ben Hartuk 8-2 to earn their 5th won together.

“Godlove and Turchin played a good match today they were playing together again for the first time in a few matches and I was pleased with their effort and performance. Sam hung around in his match and it could have gone either way, it is unfortunate that he lost in the tiebreaker,” commented Head Coach Adam Shoemaker.

Oberlin (3-20, 0-3 NCAC East) will use the upcoming week to prepare for the NCAC Tournament. The Yeomen, as the fourth seed in the East, will likely play Denison University the West's probable No. 1 seed on Saturday May 1st.
