Box Score

Oberlin, Ohio
– Despite having three players with double-digit kills, the Yeowomen fell on Wednesday night to the Allegheny College Gators in straight sets 25-23, 25-23, 25-19. It was the second time in three days, the Allegheny College Gators traveled to Oberlin to take on the Yeowomen.

Allegheny got off to a quick start in the opening set by jumping out to a 6-0 lead, but the Yeowomen would not go quietly, as they fought back to tie the score at 13. Allegheny would then use a 10-4 surge to push their lead to 23-17. Oberlin clawed back to make it 24-23 before the Gators closed the door on them taking the first set 25-23.

In the second set, fortunes seemed to be turning for the Yeowomen as they jumped out to an early lead. Oberlin would see their lead grow to as much as six points when they led 16-10. After well timed timeout call by Allegheny Head Coach Bridget Sheehan, the Yeowomen saw their lead shrink before the Gators took their first lead of the set at 19-18. Oberlin would come back to retake the lead at 22-21, before Allegheny used a 4-1 run to end the set.

In the third set, Allegheny jumped out to a quick 9-5 lead and never looked back. The Yeowomen were able to pull within one at 17-16, but the Gators closed the set out with an 8-3 surge to end the game and leave Oberlin victorious.

Despite dominating the game many statistical categories, it seemed the Yeowomen could not catch a break. Oberlin finished with 38 total kills to Allegheny's 34, while finishing with 64 digs against just 50 for the Gators.

Oberlin was paced offensively by current NCAC Player of the Week senior Anna Frackman who registered 12 kills on the night. Sophomore Laura Jessee tallied 11 kills, while fellow senior Amanda Wysk had 10 kills, to go along with a team high 14 digs. Jessee and Wysk also had three blocks apiece.

The Yeowomen will look to rebound as they travel to Muskingum College on Saturday for a 2 p.m. tilt.
