Box Score vs. Bluffton
August 30 – The Oberlin College volleyball team were much improved from yesterday, but still found themselves on the wrong side of a 3-0 count to Marietta and a 3-1 score against Bluffton.
“I was pleased with the way we performed today as we were able to pick up our level of play after a disappointing day yesterday,” head coach Carey Cavanaugh said. “However, we still have a lot of work that needs to be done in order for us to continue to grow as a team.”
Maggie Jacobson was the most consistent performer of the tournament for Oberlin as she was named to the all-tournament team.
For the second time in as many days the Yeowomen got a crack at the Pioneers, and this time played a much closer match before succumbing 25-13, 25-20, 25-20. In game three Oberlin jumped out to a 9-3 lead but the Pioneers roared back to tie it at 14 and went on to complete the three-game sweep.

Courtney Konow led the way with nine kills while
Tammela Platt recorded a team-high 12 digs.
Rita Kaplon also added 11 digs to go along with 17 assists.
After falling to Bluffton 25-14 in game one, the Yeowomen were triumphant in match two, coming away with a 25-21 win. Unfortunately, Oberlin dropped the next two games by the scores of 25-20 and 25-19.
First-year
Sara Blankemeyer paced the OC offense against the Beavers with nine kills on 18 swings while committing just one error. As a team the Yeowomen registered season-highs in digs (48) and blocks (18).
Oberlin returns to the court on Friday, Sept. 5, with a tri-match against Transylvania and Grove City.
