Box Score
October 29 – The Oberlin College volleyball team got off to a fast start by winning the first set, but the Denison University Big Red responded by winning the next three to claim 3-1 (17-25, 25-20, 25-11, 26-24) victory over the Yeowomen on Wednesday night in Granville, Ohio.
At times, Oberlin displayed the ability and talent that has led them to tie a school-best six conference wins, but at other moments in the match their youth shined through – leading to some mental mistakes.
“We have the physical ability to make the plays, but we need to continue to build on our mental toughness in pressure situations in order to play a complete match,” head coach Carey Cavanaugh said.
Junior
Rita Kaplon put together a solid effort for the Yeowomen – dishing out 40 assists while hitting .333. She also added 16 digs.
Outside hitters
Anna Frackman and
Amanda Wysk paced the offense with a combined 95 swings. Frackman finished with a .244 hitting percentage while Wysk checked in a .196.

The Yeowomen will conclude the regular season at home on Saturday with a tri-match against Hiram and Case Western Reserve. First, Oberlin will take on Terriers at 1 p.m. and later return to battle the Spartans at 5 p.m.
