October 24 –
The Oberlin College volleyball team had early leads in each of the first three sets, but couldn't closeout the visiting Wooster Scots – dropping a 3-1 (21-25, 17-25, 25-20, 20-25) decision on Friday Night at Philips Gym.

Sophomore Amanda Wysk paced the offensive attack with 15 kills, while Anna Frackman added 12 finishers of her own to go along with a team-high 22 digs.

The Yeowomen came out of the locker room displaying the confidence that comes from a big road win at Ohio Wesleyan - building a 20-15 lead in the first game. However, the Scots would not go away quietly as they battled all the way back to steal the set, 25-21.

In the second set, it was much of the same as Oberlin jumped out to an early 7-3 advantage, but the Scots ripped off an 8-2 run to claim an 11-9 lead en route to a 25-17 victory.

However the third stanza belonged to Oberlin as they came away with a 25-20 victory. The Yeowomen were once again in control with a 19-13 edge before the Scots came back to cut it to 22-19. This time Oberlin would not be denied, closing out the set strong with three of the game's final four points.

Looking to extend the match to five, Oberlin put forth a great effort, being neck-and-neck with Wooster throughout the set. A Sara Blankemeyer block followed by a kill of her own made it 14-13 in favor of the Scots. Oberlin was within 21-18 in the closing moments, but the veteran poise of the Scots shined through as they closed out the match with 25-20 win.

Oberlin has a quick turnaround as they step out of conference tomorrow for a tri-match at John Carroll where they will also take on Wilmington.
