October 15 –
The Oberlin College volleyball team made short work of Kenyon College on Wednesday night in a straight set 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-16) victory. The win marks Oberlin's fourth NCAC victory of the season, the most since 1992 when it went 6-5 in league play.

“We passed the ball really well tonight, which allowed our setters to run the offense very effectively,” head coach Carey Cavanaugh said.

As a team, the Yeowomen hit .363 for the match, which is their second best offensive effort of the season. Oberlin (5-17, 4-6 NCAC) was paced by middle hitters Sara Blankemeyer and Maggie Jacobson. Blankemeyer hit an impressive .538 with seven kills, while Jacobson registered nine kills - finishing at a .529 clip.

Junior Rita Kaplon distributed 29 assists and first-year Kaitlyn Moushon checked in with 14 digs.

Overall, Oberlin committed just 10 hitting errors in the match – its third lowest total of the season, and also added five blocks.

The Yeowomen have a busy weekend ahead at home as the No. 6 Wittenberg University Tigers (20-2, 8-0 NCAC) invade Philips Gym on Friday at 8 p.m., while Earlham College comes to town on Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. tilt.
