Greenwood, Indiana – Continuing to exemplify distinction on the field and in the classroom, a combined six student-athletes from the Oberlin College field hockey and women's lacrosse teams produced College Sports Communicators (CSC) At-Large Academic All-District accolades, announced by the CSC on Tuesday afternoon.
Earning an At-Large selection for the Crimson and Gold are Ale Bernal, Olivia Corradi, Megan Hiller, Janny McCormick, Kylie Thompson, and Bella Tilford. While McCormick is a dual-sport athlete, Tilford hails from the field hockey team as Bernal, Corradi, Hiller, and Thompson earned At-Large selections from the women's lacrosse program.
Graduating with a 4.06 in biology, Bernal played in all 17 games this season, making seven starts. The Denver native scored her first career goal in Oberlin's first shutout victory since 2013, concluding her season with two more goals.
Earning her second career CSC award, Corradi finished the season with 28 goals, 24 ground balls, 13 caused turnovers, and a team-high 49 draw controls. Landing on the All-NCAC Third-Team for the first time in her career, Corradi finishes her career with 64 goals, 113 ground balls, 53 caused turnovers, and 132 draws.
A three-time CSC All-District selection and two-time All-NCAC recipient, Hiller started in all 17 games this season. Concluding her career with 131 goals and 207 points, the Law and Society and Financial Economics double major sits at second all-time in program history for career goals and points. Additionally, the Maryland native established a new single-season assist program record (41) in the final game of her career.
Earning her third career CSC honor, McCormick graduates as one of the leading Oberlin field hockey goalies of this decade. Recording her second career All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Second-Team honor this past season, the Computer Science and Economics double major surpassed the 300-save milestone in the team's battle against Wittenberg, finishing with 347 career saves to rank fifth all-time in program history.
Thompson caps a remarkable sophomore season after leading the conference with 84 points, a total that ranks second all-time in program history for single-season points, while also leading the NCAC with 4.94 points per game. At the forefront of Oberlin's scoring production with 55 goals, the California native ranked fourth in the conference, helping her earn her second NCAC postseason honor.
Starting in all 13 games this season and earning her second CSC award, Tilford highlighted the field hockey program with their first All-NCAC First-Team selection since 2016, the second NCAC selection of her career after earning Second-Team honors in 2024. A Psychology and German double major with a 4.11 GPA, Tilford delivered a team-high three assists and tied a team-best nine points.
"I'm extremely proud of Janny and Bella for earning this recognition. Both of them have invested a tremendous amount of time and effort into their academic work while also committing themselves to our program," Head Field Hockey Coach Jess West adds. "It's not always easy to balance the demands of being a college athlete with the expectations of an Oberlin education, but they have continued to show up and do both at a high level. This honor is a reflection of the dedication they've demonstrated throughout their time here."
"I am super pumped for Ale, Olivia, Megan, and Kylie! They all worked very hard on and off the field this season as wonderful examples of student-athletes," Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Malory Nadrah continues. "Congratulations to each of them!"
The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore athletic status and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games while maintaining a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
