Kit Evans, the sole decathlete for the Yeomen, registered a personal record of 12.04 in the 100m. In the long jump, the senior leaped to a 5.83m, just 0.01m ahead of his previous best.

In the high jump, Button finished in a three-way tie with a personal best of 1.48m in her final attempt. Williams added the Oberlin PR count to four with a mark of 1.39m to place fifth.

Moving over to the throw circle, Evans threw a mark of 10.37m in his opening attempt to place in the top half of the field at sixth. Celia Vaughn notched an impressive third-place finish in the shot put, throwing 8.61m, while Button snagged a personal best at 7.64m to place sixth.

In the final heptathlon event of the day, Williams clocked in a personal-best 27.49 200m to place fourth. Button followed just behind with another PR of 28.91 to place seventh.

Evans had two remaining events for the decathlon, tying for 12th in the high jump with a mark of 1.58m. In the 400m, the senior dipped just under his previous best, crossing the line in 53.44 and finishing eighth.

"We had 12 event PRs across four people! We're ending Day 1 in the best conceivable team position we could be," Head Coach Ben Wach adds.

Continuing the NCAC Combined Events Championships, Evans returns to the track tomorrow, on Sunday, April 26, at 11 a.m., starting with the 110m hurdles. Button, Vaughn, and Williams return to the heptathlon with the long jump starting at 12 p.m.
