Gambier, Ohio – Winning her first career North Coast title, Ella Wozek of the Oberlin College track & field team won the 800m on the second day of the NCAC Championships on Saturday as the Crimson and Gold produced eight All-Conference honors over the course of the championships.

After running 2:19.53 in the 800m prelims yesterday, Wozek clocked in a personal-best 2:13.22, almost two seconds faster than her previous best and ranking second all-time in program history. Sitting in third at 400m to go, Wozek moved her way up to win her first NCAC title and earn All-Conference honors.

"This has been an incredibly special season, and I am so grateful to have closed it out with my amazing and supportive teammates and coaches by my side," Wozek says on her NCAC title. "A lot of consistent hard work and so many cheers went into today. I am so grateful for everyone who has believed in me along the way to get here."

Coming fresh off her record-breaking performance in the long jump yesterday, Anna Fritz started the second day registering a personal-best mark of 11.02m in the triple jump, placing fifth overall and ranking ninth all-time in Oberlin history.

Namu Makatiani earned his 13th career All-Conference honor with a runner-up performance in the triple jump, recording a season-best mark of 14.47m. Dane Mentore garnered his second career All-Conference accolade with a third-place finish in the triple jump, posting a mark of 14.04m.

Kicking things off on the track, the 4x100m relay team of Dylan Davis, Fritz, Yrva Desormeaux, and Ryley Steggall crossed the line in 50.30, earning two points for the Crimson and Gold and dipping under the program's season best of 50.33, set by the same lineup.

In the 100m hurdle finals, Fritz earned a point for Oberlin, running a time of 15.49. Following Wozek's strong performance in the 800m, Cooper Tanski posted an All-Conference performance in the men's 800m with a time of 1:55.85 to place third.

Desormeaux returned for the 400m hurdle finals, notching a sixth-place finish with a time of 1:08.24 to earn a trio of points for the women's team. Following her runner-up finish in the 3,000m steeplechase, Char Purcell returned to the oval for the 5,000m, shattering her personal record by almost 53 seconds with a time of 18:00.47 and placing seventh.

In the men's race, Liam Newman crossed the line in 15:02.25 to finish fifth overall and earn four points for Oberlin.

Closing the meet with the 4x400m relay, the quartet of Steggall, Clara Smith, Val Harris, and Wozek produced a time of 4:12.07.

"Ella has worked so hard, in so many ways, to earn that victory. Ella didn't get to run the 800 at all last year, and ran a new season best every single meet where she contested the 800 this year, marching from 2:27 to conference champ," Head Coach Ben Wach continues.

Across the weekend, the Crimson and Gold delivered eight All-Conference performances, including one NCAC title. The women's team finished in sixth place with 49 points, improving on their eighth-place finish from the 2025 season. The men's team placed eighth with 40 points. John Carroll swept both team titles with 163.5 points on the men's side and 190 points on the women's side.

Select athletes will compete in the Harrison Dillard Twilight, hosted by Baldwin Wallace on Thursday, May 7, and Friday, May 8. Thursday events start at 12 p.m. with Friday events beginning at 1 p.m.
