Colorado Springs, Colorado – Fourteen student-athletes from the Oberlin College field hockey team were recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) for their academic performance during the fall semester. 

Lucia Grant, Shelby Roth, and Bella Tilford were among 543 Division III student-athletes who earned Scholar of Distinction honors, presented to student-athletes who achieved a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester of the 2025-26 academic year. This marks the third year Tilford was awarded the NFHCA Scholar of Distinction title. 

Joining the trio on the National Academic Squad are Sara Baunoch, Leila Burki, Samantha Finkelberg, Johana Horvath, Clare Kammeier, Meaghan Kramer, Kate Maness, Willow Maniscalco, Janny McCormick, Mary Rodman, and Paloma Szyfer. The National Academic Squad awards student-athletes who have produced a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester. 

"I am incredibly proud of our 14 student-athletes who earned recognition on the NFHCA Academic Squad. Balancing the demands of college athletics and academics is no small task, and this group continues to show that excellence in the classroom and on the field can go hand in hand," Head Coach Jess West adds. "Their commitment to growth, discipline, and supporting one another truly embodies our 'One Team' culture. What they've accomplished this season, both competitively and academically, speaks volumes about who they are."

Graduating three seniors, the Crimson and Gold return 15 student-athletes ahead of the 2026 season.
