Oberlin, Ohio – On the final day of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, the Oberlin College swim and dive teams broke a trio of school records on their way to top-five finishes in the conference. The Yeomen earned 1,70 points to grab fourth, marking the best finish and most points in program history. The Yeowomen finished in fifth with a record 923.5 points, the second-most point total of all time.

Leading the Crimson and Gold on their record day, junior Leo Powers reset his own school record in the 100-yard IM race. With a time of 52.65, Powers placed seventh in the A-Final race. For the women, Ava Peyton competed in the A-Final, where she grabbed eighth in 1:01.97.

Adding another record to his legacy, Isaac Viviano took down the 2018 200-yard breaststroke best with a time of 2:03.79. The senior earned sixth by half a length.

The final record of the day fell with the men's 400-yard freestyle relay. Erik Fendorf, Myles Felt, James Moll, and Chahine Saïd turned in a 3:03.72 to grab third and a place on the All-Conference podium. In Fendorf's lead-off leg, the senior swam 45.02 to clinch an NCAA B Cut. The women's relay team of Peyton, Ari Marrero, Nyrobi Whitfield, and Isabel Pfaff touched the pads in 3:40.43 to claim fifth.

In the 1,650-yard race, Miguel Siwady finished fifth with a time of 16:13.95 for the men's team. Following just after, Saïd touched the pads for a time of 16:15.83.

Moving to the 200-yard backstroke, Moll represented the Yeomen in the A-Finals, where he clocked in 1:52.25 for eighth overall. Fendorf continued Oberlin's momentum with a No. 6 finish in the 100-yard freestyle event. The senior turned in a 45.38, just .36 shy of the NCAA B Cut line.

Earning a spot in the 200-yard butterfly A-Final, Ronen Baron grabbed ninth and 24 points for the Crimson and Gold. Baron turned in a time of personal best time of 2:20.71. Felt repped the Yeomen in the same event, earning sixth in 1:54.19.

Rounding out the Championship with the 3-mtr dive, Jackson Bartlett put together 11 dives worth 243.25 points. The rookie senior added 25 points to the Yeomen's total as he finished eighth overall.

"It was a great meet for our team across the board! Our swimmers and divers did an amazing job! The women's team tallied ten top ten times in school history and one school record, while the men's team had 21 top ten times in school history and seven school records. Head Coach Alex de la Peña remarks on his team's accomplishments this week. "The team also posted 58 personal best swims! Our divers provided tremendous contributions to the team on one and three meters with personal bests there as well!"

"This was the highest finish in program history for the men's team and the women's team tallied the second-highest point total in program history! We are incredibly proud and grateful to have such a great group of student-athletes and see all their hard work pay off!"

With both Fendorf and Felt making NCAA B Cuts during the Championship Meet, the duo will travel, along with other members of the swim and dive team, to Case Western on Friday, February 21, where they will compete in the End of Year Invite.
