Granville, Ohio – On the first night of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, the Oberlin College men's and women's swim and dive team broke a pair of school records.
The women's 200-yard medley relay team of
Ava Peyton,
Soomin Yoo,
Elinor Frost, and
Isabel Pfaff clocked in at 1:48.89 to edge out the year-old record. Earning fifth overall for their performance, the quartet set the tone for the rest of the swim competition.
On the men's side of the event,
Myles Felt,
Isaac Viviano,
Erik Fendorf, and
Chahine Saïd broke the 90-second barrier for the first time in school history to snag third place. The 1:29.92 finish earns the Crimson and Gold their first All-Conference honors of the meet.
Capping off an incredible season,
Winnie Wood competed in the 3-mtr dive event where she qualified of finals after a stellar prelims performance. Scoring 286.40 in prelims, Wood notched 280.85 points in her first career finals appearance for a ninth-overall finish.

Back between the lanes, the 800-yard freestyle relay kicked off with the women's team of
Gretchen Lotter, Yoo,
Nyrobi Whitfield and Frost. Touching the pads at 8:11.77, the Yeowomen earned sixth.
Saïd,
James Moll,
Leo Powers, and
Miguel Siwady headlined the men's 800-yard relay team where they swam a 6:55.25. Coming just 11 seconds shy of the podium cut, the Yeomen earned fourth.
After the first day of competition, the women's team earned 134 points to sit in fourth of the eight team field. Kenyon (281), Denison (236), and Wooster (135) round out the top three.
With 118 points, the men's team sit in third behind Kenyon (124), and Denison (140).
The Crimson and Gold return to the pool tomorrow, Thursday, February 12. Prelims are set to begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by diving Prelims at 12:00 p.m. Swim finals will start at 6 p.m., while diving finals will begin promptly after the 50-yard freestyle finals.
