Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania – The Oberlin College men's and women's swim and dive teams have earned the distinct honor of CSCAA Scholar All-America status for the ASDFA semester in a row.

The women's team finished the fall with the best GPA in Division III at 3.82 ahead of 176 other programs. With a 3.60, the men's team finished 20th among a field of 143.

"We are very proud of our student-athletes for all the hard work they put into their academics!" Head Coach Alex de la Peña is ecstatic over the honor. "They are a very smart group and it is an honor and a privilege to work with them everyday! They never cease to amaze us with the great work they are doing in the classroom and in the campus community while balancing that with having the demanding schedule of being collegiate swimmers and divers.

Within the NCAC, Denison, DePauw, Kenyon, Wabash (men only), Wittenberg, and Wooster all earned CSCAA honors for their men's and women's teams.

To qualify for this prestigious recognition, teams had to earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 during the Spring 2024 semester. Of the selected teams, an impressive 564 achieved a GPA of 3.30 or above with both Oberlin squads soaring well above that mark.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The CSCAA is dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.

The Crimson and Gold take the next week to rest and prepare ahead of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, beginning on Wednesday, February 12, in Granville, Ohio.

Fans can keep up with their favorite teams on Instagram, Facebook, X, or TikTok, and watch all the home matches live online. The Crimson and Gold's home broadcasts can be accessed on TV through the official Oberlin College Sports Network app on Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV.
