Westlake, Ohio – After a historic victory, Oberlin College football junior
Hunter Green has earned NCAC Football Defensive Athlete of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
This marks the first time in his career that Green has been recognized for his outstanding defensive prowess.
Green delivered a dominant performance in the Yeomen's first win of the season against Hiram on Senior Day. The linebacker anchored the defense with a season-best 13 total tackles, including eight solo stops and five tackle assists. He was a disruptive force, recording 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks for a loss of 23 yards, both season highs. Green also forced a fumble and registered three quarterback hits, effectively halting Hiram's offensive momentum.
His standout performance played a pivotal role in Oberlin's 24-17 victory, as the Yeomen secured their first win of the season.
