Granville, OH - The Oberlin College Swim and Dive team put up strong performances in both genders on the first night of competition. The 800yd freestyle relay efforts of
Elinor Frost,
Bella Sites,
Lucy Lee, and
Hannah Hale started the Yeowomen off with a 5th place finish (8:08.20). The Yeomen saw a 6th place finish in the same event with the team of
Miguel Siwady,
Myles Felt,
Jack Stewart, and
Tyler Wang finishing in a time of 7:05.95 for the second-fastest time in school history.

The Yeowomen ended the night in record fashion, setting a new program record in the 200yd medley relay off the fins Frost and teammates
Ava Peyton,
Skye Slade, and
Elisabeth Ragone. The team finished in 4th with a time 1:49.29. The men's side shattered their respective 200yd medley relay record, taking home bronze with Felt,
Isaac Viviano,
Erik Fendorf, and
Daniel Bocsi in a time of 1:32.80. The women's team ends the first night of competition in 4th place with 114 points while the men finish in fifth, also with 114 points.Â
The swim and dive teams return to the pool for the second day of competition tomorrow, with heats beginning at 9:30 am and finals beginning at 6 pm. Spectators can follow all the action on
