Westlake, Ohio – Oberlin College field hockey defender
Abbie Patchen was named a North Coast Athletic Conference Third-Team selection, the league office announced Tuesday morning.
Patchen started all 16 games for the Yeowomen as a midfielder and defender, finishing the season with one defensive save and one shot attempt.
"I am so proud of Abbie for all of her continued hard work and leadership on this team," Head Coach
Jess West said. "She comes to practice every day ready to work hard and compete. This is a well deserved honor for a player who pours her heart into this game."
Patchen helped the Crimson and Gold to their winningest season since 2013, earning four wins with three victories coming in overtime action. Patchen was a key contributor in each of the team's triumphs, especially in their victory over Earlham when the New Hampshire native scored the final penalty stroke.
For the second-straight year, Patchen was tabbed all-conference after starting every game in her sophomore campaign where she was one of three lock-in starters.
While Patchen will make her way over to the lacrosse team in the spring, her field hockey teammates will begin preparations for the 2023 season during their non-traditional spring practice period.
