Men's ResultsGreencastle, Indiana – Oberlin College women's track and field claimed a runner-up finish (125 pts.) at the 2015 North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, while the Yeomen, led by junior
Geno Arthur's triumph in the 3,000-meter, finished fifth with 49.33 points in the team standings.

Ray Appenheimer.
Senior
Carey Lyons swept the mile and 3,000-meter run to help guide the women to second place at the indoor championships after helping the Yeowomen claim an NCAC Cross Country Championship in the fall.
Lyons finished ahead of the field with a time of 5:06.62 in Greencastle. Junior
Sarel Loewus finished ninth with a time of 5:22.63.
Lyons went on to win the women's 3k by four seconds, crossing the finish line at 10:17.71. Classmates
Sarah Jane Kerwin and
Emma Lehmann placed third and fifth, earning a combined 10 points with times of 10:25.64 and 10:33.53, respectively.
Arthur, who set the records in the 3,000 and 5,000-meters earlier this season, was first in the 3K with a time of 8:31 to best the field by five seconds. His school-record marks of 8:23.75 and 14:23.76 are good enough to qualify for the 2015 NCAA Indoor Championships.
"Both Carey and Geno were champions today, but we also had a lot of great performances across the board," said Appenheimer.
In the pole vault, sophomore vaulter
Ave Spencer finished second with a height of 10-06.75 (3.22m), clearing the mark on her second attempt. DePauw's Rachel Gutish who cleared 3.22 meters on her first attempt, edged out Spencer for first. Both athletes failed to clear 3.77 meters on their next three attempts.
Ana Richardson,
Lilah Drafts-Johnson, and
Annie Goodridge continued to have an excellent first season with two third-place finishes at their inaugural NCAC Championship outing.
Richardson finished third in the weight throw to lead the crew of women's throwers with a mark of 49-07.00 (15.11m). Sophomore
Hannah Tyburski and first-year
Monique Newton finished ninth and 11
th, respectively. Tyburski landed a mark of 45-02.50 (13.78m) and Newton finished with a distance of 44-02.75 (13.48m). Newton claimed the women's shot put title yesterday with a toss of 42.09.75 (13.05m).
In her first NCAC Championship outing, Drafts-Johnson ran her way to a third-place finish in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 59.40. The Melrose, Massachusetts, native then went on to team up with seniors
Margaret Miller,
Nuria Alishio-Caballero and
Ashley Parish to finish third in the 4x200 meter relay.
Drafts-Johnson finished her first NCAC Championship performance by helping the 4x400 meter relay to a second-place finish. She partnered with
Caracol Haley, Parish and Miller to post a time of 4:05.48 to finish behind Ohio Wesleyan.
In the 4x200, the foursome of Miller, Drafts-Johns, Alishio-Caballero and Parish clocked a mark of 1:46.71 for third place.
After earning NCAC Athlete of the Week honors two weeks ago, Goodridge placed third in the long jump with a mark of 17-03.50 (5.27m) to claim all-conference honors.
In the 800-meter run, Haley finished fifth with a time of 2:21.91.
On the men's side, senior
Jerry Choi competed in three events in his final indoor championship appearance. Choi helped the trio of
James Tanford,
Ian Emerson and
Ian Smith to a fourth place finish in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:35.14. As an individual, Choi went on the earn a fifth in the 400-meter dash and a seventh in the 200.
Junior
Joshua Urso finished eighth in the men's mile with a time of 4:27.01.
"We had great leadership from our upperclassmen and captains," said Appenheimer. "I couldn't be more proud of this group, and myself and the rest of the coaching staff are looking forward to the outdoor season."
