Findlay, Ohio – Oberlin College track and field completed their outing at the University of Findlay with a productive day of running at the Findlay Classic on Saturday afternoon.
NCAC Athlete of the Week two weeks ago, senior sprinter Margaret Miller had a quality showing in the women's 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash. In the 60-meter, Miller clocked a time of 8.15 in the second heat of the prelims to qualify for the finals.
In the final heat, Miller ran to a fifth-place finish with an identical time of 8.15.
In the 200-meter dash, the Oberlin women finished 11th, 12th and 13th. Miller led the pack with a time of 27.69 followed by Ashley Parish's 28.05 and Lilah Drafts-Johnson's time of 28.19.
Drafts-Johnson went on to finish second in the women's triple jump with a leap of 10.36-meters.
First-year Caracol Haley continues to have a successful indoor season with a third-place performance in the women's 800-meters with a time of 2:26.10.
In the women's one-mile run, Sarel Loewus led the Yeowomen with a time of 5:32.74, enough for fourth place.
It was Jerry Choi who led the way with two top-20 finishes for the Yeomen. In the men's 200-meter dash, Choi finished 17th with a time of 24.05 before running his way to a sixth-place finish with a mark of 52.72 in the 400-meter dash.
In the men's 60-meter dash, junior Sam Black clocked a time of 7.39.
Senior high jumper Evan Finch finished with a height of 1.87-meters for an eighth-place finish.
Oberlin track and field will return to action next week at the College of Wooster Fighting Scots invitational. Action starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 31.
