Cardinals Score Two Late, Outlast Yeomen

Oberlin, Ohio – Oberlin men's soccer dropped their second consecutive home match in a 3-1 loss to the Otterbein Cardinals.
 
After surrendering a goal in the first minute of play, the Yeomen answered in the 18th­ when senior John Ingham collected his fourth goal of the season. Ingham dribbled passed a would-be defender into the penalty area and fired a shot that deflected off of a Cardinal defender and in.
 
The score remained level, 1-1, at the half although both sides made multiple attempts to pull the contest in their favor.
 
The Cardinals found the go ahead goal in 66th minute on a header. Less than five minutes later the Cardinals found their third goal of the contest on another headed effort.
 
The loss pushed the Yeomen to 2-3 overall.
 
Oberlin men's soccer will return to the pitch on Tuesday, September 23 when they host the Student Princes of Heidelberg University. First touch is slated for 7 p.m. under the lights of Shults Field.
