Ingham Tallies Hat Trick; Men’s Soccer Drops Earlham

Ingham earns his first hat trick of the year

Richmond, IN. – John Ingham collected his first hat trick of the year as well as an assist to propel Oberlin men's soccer to a 5-0 win over Earlham.

The Yeomen dominated the early stages with four first half goals. In the second half, Oberlin registered their fifth goal of the evening and cruised to another non-conference victory.

It was the John Ingham show in the first half as the junior, forward recorded all three of his goals before the 29th minute of play.

Ingham's first goal of the night came in the ninth minute followed by his second in the 23rd. With 27:27 on the clock in the first half, Ingham completed his hat trick with another unassisted goal.

The Yeomen's final first half goal came off of the foot of first year Timothy Williams, who came on as a substitute. Dan Lev tabbed the first assist of his sophomore campaign on the Williams goal.

In the 48th, sophomore Sam Weiss earned his first collegiate goal with the help of Ingram to send the Yeomen ahead, 5-0. From there the Oberlin men were on cruise control as they collected their second victory of the year.

The Oberlin defense was a force against the Quakers as senior goalkeeper Oidie Kuijpers earned his second clean sheet of the season.

The win in Richmond, Ind. moves the Oberlin men to 2-1 overall as they play host to Grove City College on Wednesday, September 17. Kickoff between Yeomen and Wolverines is slated for 7 p.m.
