Holland, MI – The Oberlin College men's soccer team notched its second victory of the season, downing Concordia University (MI), 3-1, on Saturday afternoon.

"We did a great job of imposing our will and in turn got them to play our brand of soccer," Head Coach Blake New said. "This was a good team win with everyone contributing and it is a great feeling leaving here 2-0 on the weekend."

With the help of Dean Schapow in the 40th minute, rookie Adam Chazin-Gray netted his first collegiate goal on a shot that found the upper left 90 of the goal to give the Yeomen a 1-0 lead.

Early in the second half the Cardinals would add the equalizer as a corner-kick service got bounced around in front of the goal before ultimately being deflected in by Mike Hansen.

However, the Cardinals' momentum was short-lived as just two minutes later senior Joe Graybeal would finish off a picture perfect through-ball from Slade Gottlieb to put the Yeomen right back on top.

Gottlieb, who netted the game-winner less than 24 hours ago against Hope College, would then tack on his second goal of the season in the 66th minute to give Oberlin some breathing room.

Oidie Kuijpers went all 90 minutes in the cage and finished with two saves.

The Yeomen out-shot the Cardinals 18-11, which included a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal. However, Concordia did earn three corners compared to just one for Oberlin.

Oberlin will now rest up during the week before welcoming Penn State-Behrend to town on Friday night at 7 p.m.
