Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College men's soccer team put on a dominating performance as they downed the visiting Yellow Jackets of Waynesburg, 2-0, on Friday night at Fred Shults Field.
The Yeomen controlled the run of play throughout the 90-minute match, evident by a 16-6 advantage shots and 6-1 margin in corners. Of the Yeomen's 16 triggers, 12 were on goal.
The Yeomen got on the board early in just the 14th minute as senior
Ed Vitoria settled a ball between a plethora of Yellow Jacket defenders before sending a rifle shot inside the back post for his third goal of the young season. (

OC would take its 1-0 lead into the break, but rookie Slade Gottleib would tack on a big insurance goal in the 63rd minute. He was left alone in the middle of the box and took an excellent service feed from the foot of
Chris Campbell before sending it into the upper 90 of the cage. It was Gottleib's second score of his young career and Campbell's second assist of the season. (

The Yeomen defense did their part in keeping the pressure off of goalie
Brandt Rentel as he was never really tested on the night, finishing with two saves.
With the win the Yeomen improved to 3-1. They will conclude their five-game homestand tomorrow night when they play host to Principia at 5 p.m.
