Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin men's soccer team ran its conference record to 2-0 as they defeated the visiting Tigers of Wittenberg, 2-0, on Saturday night at Fred Shults Field.
With the win the Yeomen improved to 7-2-1 overall as they remain atop of the NCAC standings.
The Yeomen scored early and added an insurance tally late in the win. It was senior

Chris Campbell who gave him a nice feed from the middle of the field.
It would remain 1-0 all the way until the 79
th minute when Joy Graybeal finished off a setpiece service from
Matt Capozzi.
Despite being out-cornered 7-3, the Yeomen were still able to control possession throughout the game as they out-shot Wittenberg 15-7, including a 7-3 edge in shots on goal.
Once again the Yeomen used their strong depth to their advantage, playing 22 men in the contest. Oberlin had nine players credited with at least one shot.
Brandt Rentel had a solid game in goal running the backline unit. He ended with three saves on the night.
Oberlin will host Kenyon College next Saturday night at 7 p.m. in its second game of a three-match homestand that started tonight.
