Oberlin, Ohio- The Oberlin College men's soccer team was edged out by the visiting Lords of Kenyon College 1-0 on Saturday night at Fred Shults Field.
Both teams' defenses had strong performances on Saturday night. The game was scoreless through the first 33 minutes of the first half until Kenyon gained the lead off a header from the right side. The Yeomen went into halftime down 1-0.
Despite spending most of the second half on the offensive, Oberlin was not able to get on the board and tie the game. Kenyon's lone score in the first half was ultimately enough to put away the Yeomen, ending the game 1-0.
Junior
Brandt Rentel finished the game with two saves in goal.
Kenyon led in shots with nine to Oberlin's four, while the Lords five corner kicks edged out the Yeomen's four.
Oberlin's next game is on October 10 when Denison comes to town for a 7 p.m. matchup.
