Yeomen Finish Season With Victory Over Wooster

Oberlin, Ohio- The Oberlin College men's soccer team finished the 2012 regular season with a 2-1 victory over visiting Wooster on Saturday night at Fred Shults Field.
 
The Scots got on the board first in the 11th minute on an open net after goalkeeper Brandt Rentel was drawn out of the goal.
 
The Yeomen responded 23 minutes into the first half when senior Andrew Wise took the ball down the left side of the field on a breakaway, came across the middle of the box and bent a shot in just out of the goalkeeper's reach. The score was Wise's second of the season. (Watch)
 
The two teams went into halftime tied at 1-1.
 
After 43 minutes of play into the second half, senior Matt Capozzi found the back of the net for his second goal of the year off of a Wooster save to put the Yeomen up 2-1 with two minutes remaining in regulation. (Watch)
 
Wooster was not able to tie the game in the last two minutes of play, securing the Oberlin victory.
 
The Yeomen dominated in shots and corner kicks with 17 shots to the Scots' eight and seven corners to Wooster's one.
 
Rentel finished the night with seven saves in goal.
 
Oberlin finishes the year with a 9-7-1 record overall and 4-5 in the conference.
