Calvin defeats Oberlin on Final Day of GLCA's

Results 

Kalamazoo, Mich. - The Oberlin College men's tennis team faltered on the second day of the Great Lakes Colleges Association tournament today dropping the match against Calvin College 8-1.

First-year Logan Chun is having a fine inaugural season as he continues to down opposing No. 1's.  He defeated Calvin's Andrew DeVlieger in a super tiebreaker.  DeVlieger got ontop in the first set and didn't look back winning 6-1.  Chun charged back into the match claiming the second set 6-4 and then pushed Calvin's No. 1out of the way in the super breaker winning 10-7 to earn his thirteenth win of the season and fourth in a row.

Oberlin was in contention in the top two doubles pairings but Calvin managed to gain control and pick up wins in all three positions.

Eliot Heaton and Chun battled it out at No. 2 against DeVlieger and Philip Reinkin going extra sets before falling 9-7.

The Yeomen's top pairing of Leo Sprinzen and Charlie Marks were bested by Roland Eldridge and Preston Phillips 8-6.

Oberlin (6-12, 1-0 NCAC) is back in action April 14 when they host Denison University in a match slated for a 4:30 p.m. start.
