Oberlin, OH - The Oberlin College Swimming and Diving Teams fell to NCAC rival Allegheny College this evening at Carr Pool.
The Yeowomen started off with a victory in 200-yard medley relay. The team team of
Kate Melanson,
Jordan Jancosek,
Katie Dunn and
Sara Kadi won the event with a time of 1:54.97.
The team had several outstanding performances throughout the meet. Four different athlets won individual events..
Junior
Jane McIntyre had a great meet. She won the 200-yard butterfly (2:16.02) and swam to a second place finish in the 200-yard breastroke (2:36.43).
Kadi won the 200-yard individual medley (2:16.03). Kadi also had two second place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.89) and 100-yard freestyle (54.71).
Melanson won the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.75) and senior diver
Christine Martin won the three-meter diving event with a score of 194.48.
Chris Pickens won three individual events for the Yeomen. Pickens won the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.25), 100-yard freestyle (51.44) and 500-yard freestyle (5:01.29).
First-year diver
Rhys Hertafeld won both one and three-meter boards. He put up a score of 219.08 on one-meter and 195.15 on three-meter.
Dylan Jordan and
Mike Sabatka also tallied up victories for the Yeomen. Jordan won the 200-yard backstroke (2:02.59) while Sabatka captured the 100-yard breastroke (1:04.50).
The Swimming and Diving Team returns to action tomorrow in a tri meet against Baldwin-Wallace and Wittenberg.
