Pete Sabo had a score and an assist in Oberlin's win over Albion
Box Score

Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College men's soccer team dominated the run of play from start to finish as they cruised past the Albion College Britons 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at Fred Shults Field.

Once again Skyler Dum was simply sensational as he dished out two assists and scored his third goal of the season.

“We played a great a game today and against a very physical team,” Head Coach Blake New said. “We were able to overcome some of things that were going on out there to focus on just playing and getting the win.”

It didn't take long for the prolific Yeomen offense to strike as in the 11th minute Dum and Pete Sabo worked a give-and-go outside the box – leaving Sabo a clear look at the net for his first goal of the season.

Just seven minutes later Sabo would return the favor as he sent a long service to Dum, who was streaking up the middle and finished the play off in the lower right corner of the goal.

It would stay 2-0 all the way till the closing minutes of the game when Dum added his second helper of the match with a deep pass to Chris Campbell, who beat the keeper in a one-on-one situation for his first tally of the year.

The match was called very closely throughout, as there were a total of eight yellow cards delegated along the way, with five directed towards the Yeomen. All-in-all Albion was tagged with 17 fouls, while Oberlin got whistled 16 times.

The Yeomen fired off 17 shots with nine on goal, while the Britons triggered 13 attempts with just four being on target.

Zach Lipshultz earned his second straight shutout as he finished with four saves over 90 minutes of work.

Oberlin returns to action Friday night against Alma. The match will be played on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, and is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
