Cleveland, Ohio – Case Western Reserve scored just before the first half horn and that was it needed to get past the Oberlin College men's soccer team on Tuesday night at Case Field.

“It is disappointing we were unable to get a win,” Head Coach Blake New said. “We had a few opportunities tonight that we missed and we need to do better job of finishing off those plays in the future.”

With just over a minute left in the opening period, the Spartans' Vinny Bell would net the game's only goal as he dribbled in from 40 yards out and beat junior keeper Zach Lipshultz on a one-on-one situation.

The Yeomen squeezed off six shots on the night with two coming on goal. Skyler Dum guided the attack with three attempts.

The Spartans triggered nine attempts with four on goal – three of which were saved by Lipshultz.

Case had a slight edge on corners (5-3) and fouls (10-9).

The Yeomen begin conference play on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. when they make the short trek over to Hiram College to battle the Terriers.
