Berea, Ohio –
The Oberlin College men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday night as the host Baldwin-Wallace College Yellow Jackets upended the Yeomen 3-0.

“We just didn't play a sound game tonight,” Head Coach Blake New said. “It was their first home game of the season and we didn't come out and match their intensity and that hurt us right from the start.”

The Yellow Jackets controlled the run of play for nearly the whole game as they triggered 16 shots - 13 of which were on goal. Oberlin got off just six shots; however, all six were on goal.

Carlin Vandendriessche scored the first two goals of the game for the victors – the first coming off a header in the 17th minute. The third B-W tally came on an own goal late in the match as the Oberlin defense misplayed a ball in front of the net.

Skyler Dum led Oberlin with two shots with four others taking just one. Zach Lipshultz had a season-high nine saves, but also allowed a season-high three goals.

Oberlin returns to the friendly confines of Fred Shults Field to play host to Muskingum College on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
