First Half Efforts Fall Short in Home Finale

Oberlin, Ohio - 
In the last home game of the season, the Oberlin College Yeowomen played a great first half, scoring four goals while keeping the Denison University at bay with seven goals. Unfortunately, the Big Red were able to pick up momentum with 12 goals in the second half en route to a 19-6 win.

Senior Dana Rich paced the OC attack with three goals  and was a perfect 2-for-2 in 8-meter attempts. Sophomore Taylor Fey scored twice while freshman Ariel Schuster scored once in the second half.

After falling behind 3-0 in the early going, the Yeowomen used a 3-0 spurt of their own that featured a score by Fey and two by Rich. However, Denison responded with with four scores of its own to lead 7-4 at the break. Schuster's goal with 18:51 left to play made it a 9-5 game, but the Big Red scored nine unanswered goals to put the game away.

Rookie goalkeeper Emily Perry had 12 saves for the day and also picked up three ground balls and had a caused turnover.

The Yeowomen will look for a win in their last game of the season this Saturday against the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops at 1 p.m.
