Hilton Head, S.C.
– The Oberlin College men's tennis team dropped a dual match with Carleton College on day one of spring break. The Knights swept claiming a 9-0 win.

The play of Ben Godlove and Joe Leffler at No. 1 highlighted doubles action. The Yeomen duo were in the match until the very end, eventually falling 8-4 to the 13th ranked pairing of Colin Russell and Peter Dunn.

“Ben and Joe played well against a good, regionally ranked doubles pairing and Ben was strong at No. 1 singles as well, losing a close first set and the second was tighter than the score reflects,” Commented head coach Adam Shoemaker.

Carlton's Dan Vollman earned a 7-5 first set win and then was able to control the match winning the second set 6-2.

The Yeomen's Peder Davis, playing in the No. 6 slot hung with Carleton's Jordan Hughes through the first set losing 6-4 but was unable to make anything materialize in the second as Hughes rolled to a 6-1 second set win.

The Yeomen are back in action tomorrow at noon versus the University of St. Thomas.
