Box Score
August 31 – Junior
Skyler Dum scored six minutes into the match and that was as the Oberlin College men's soccer team needed to secure a 1-0 victory over the Aurora University Spartans on Sunday afternoon.
The Yeomen controlled the run of play throughout the game firing off 17 shots, including 12 on goal. However, Spartans' goalkeeper Matt Ness was up to the task as he registered 11 saves on the afternoon.
“I would have liked to see us cash in a few more of the opportunities we had,” head coach
Blake New said. “Luckily Skyler's goal held up as we played good defense throughout the match.”
Eight different Yeomen recorded shots in the game with Dum leading the way with four, while
Michael Mullaley checked in with three.
Sophomore
Zach Lipshultz roamed the cage for all 90 minutes, totaling six saves on the day.
Oberlin will take to the road for the first time this season on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. showdown against Mount Union.
