The Yeowomen won 11 of 13 events as they cruised to a 138-63 victory over John Carroll on Saturday morning; while the men took home 12 victories of their own en route to a 142-63 win.

“I am really happy with the way everyone swam today,” head coach Mark Fino said. “This was a tough challenge for us with a late night yesterday and early morning today, but everyone responded well and rose to the occasion. It is still early in the season and we are going to continue to work to get better.”

The women got off to fast start in the 400-yard medley relay as the foursome of Sara Kadi, Bryne Ulmschneider, Jane McIntyre, and Flora Samis posted a mark of 4:13.44 to claim the top spot.

McIntyre, a first-year from Tenafly, New Jersey, completed her impressive weekend with another set of individual wins. First, claiming victory in the 200-yard IM in 2:21.28 and returning just one event later to triumph in 2:19.66 in the 200-yard fly.

Shannon Gallagher was also double winner on the day with victories in the 100-yard free (57.43) and 50-yard free (25.87).

Kadi continued to shine with another win in the 200-yard free, touching in at 2:00.66. Fellow sophomore Jenny Meltz added a win the 500-yard free (5:30.20), while Ulmschneider blew by the field in the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:38.97.

Like the women, the Yeomen also began the meet with a win the 400-yard medley relay with the grouping of Nick Lashway, Jebran Haddad, Corey Spiro, and Chris Canning clocking in at 3:45.35.

Lashway, Haddad, and Spiro all returned to add individual wins for the Yeomen. Lashway led the way with wins in the 200-yard free (1:51.82) and 200-yard back (2:03.90). Haddad was victorious in the 200-yard breast with a mark of 2:20.56, while Spiro touched in first in the 200-yard IM at 2:08.09.

Another first-year standout, Dimitri Macris secured a pair of wins – being triumphant in the 1,000-yard free in 10:38.39 and 200-yard fly with a time of 2:06.63.

Senior Scott McInerney won the 50-yard free in 22.57, while sophomore Jon Vimr added another win in the 500-yard free after completing the course in 5:10.83.

The wins mark the first dual meet victories of the season for both teams. Oberlin looks to carry that momentum into Friday's home meet against conference rival Allegheny at 6 p.m.
