Oberlin, Ohio - The Oberlin College Heisman Club has announced the induction of Leslie Bosworth '05, Steve Friedman '89, Kimiko Hammons '08, and Greg Mangan '09 to the Heisman Club Hall of Fame. 

"Each year, a wealth of notable talent is submitted for consideration to the Heisman Club Hall of Fame, and the 2026 class was no exception. Congratulations to Leslie, Steve, Kimiko, and Greg!" President of the Heisman Club, Jordan Jancosek, continued, "The Heisman Club Board is pleased to welcome this newest class of outstanding athletes, and we look forward to celebrating your remarkable achievements during Homecoming Weekend."
Leslie Bosworth '05
Leslie Bosworth graduated as one of the most decorated hurdlers at Oberlin College. A six-time North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Champion, Bosworth earned 13 All-NCAC honors, including at least one all-conference honor in each hurdle event during her tenure.

During her rookie season, Bosworth was a member of the 4x400m relay team that broke the program record at the NCAC Indoor Championships in 4:07.84. That record stood for six years and still remains on Oberlin's Top-10 All-Time list. 

Bosworth concluded her career at the 2005 NCAC Outdoor Championships with her best collegiate performance. She earned a conference title in the 4x400m relay, runner-up finishes in the 400m hurdles and 4x100m relay, and a third-place finish in the 100m hurdles which scored 32 of the team's 77 points. A member of three 4x400m NCAC championship title relays, Bosworth also earned a conference title in the 400m hurdles, 4x100m, and distance medley relay. 

An English and History double major with a minor in Psychology, Bosworth graduated from Oberlin in 2005 before earning her Masters in Social Work from Smith College in 2011. Bosworth is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with her own private psychotherapy practice based out of Cambridge, Massachusetts and Miami, Florida. 
Steve Friedman '89
Steven Alan Friedman '89 was a four-year letterwinner for the Oberlin College men's soccer team from 1985 to 1988. A team captain, Friedman earned numerous all-conference, all-state and all-region honors during his career. As a senior in 1988, he was named a Second-Team NCAA Division III All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He also received Adidas Academic All-America honorable mention recognition across all collegiate divisions.

Friedman graduated from Oberlin in 1989 with a degree in philosophy and economics before earning his law degree from the University of Chicago in 1992. Following law school, he served as a law clerk for United States District Court Judge John M. Manos. After his clerkship, he joined Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P., where he practiced as a commercial litigator. He remains a partner with the firm now known as Squire Patton Boggs (US) LLP.

Friedman continued to make an impact through soccer after his playing career. In 1997, he co-founded Cleveland MetroKicks, F.C., a charitable youth soccer organization that provided Saturday morning soccer clinics first at the East Cleveland Recreation Center and later at the Glenville Recreation Center until 2007. Friedman served as co-chair of the organization's board while taking primary responsibility for its coaching and instruction. 

In 2014, Friedman joined the Board of Cleveland Scores, a charitable organization that provides soccer and poetry after school programs in 16 Cleveland elementary schools. He served on the Board of Directors until 2023 when he moved to the Advisory Board where he currently serves. Earlier this year, Cleveland Scores awarded him the Peter L. Galvin Award, given to honor individuals who have provided exceptional volunteer service to the organization.  Kimiko Hammons '08
A four-year member of the women's tennis team, Kimiko Hammons née Glynn earned numerous conference and regional athletic honors during her tenure with the Crimson and Gold. 

Earning North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) First-Team honors in doubles with teammate Bianca Barr in 2005, Hammons also tabbed the NCAC Newcomer of the Year, NCAC Player of the Year, and Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region Rookie of the Year awards for her outstanding rookie performance. Hammons went on to earn All-NCAC First-Team honors in singles play for her remaining three years while also garnering Second-Team accolades in doubles play with teammate Jackie Golden her senior year. 

Finishing her senior season with a perfect 7-0 record against NCAC opponents, Hammons graduated with a 52-14 overall record, including a 25-8 conference record and received the Honda Scholar-Athlete Award, awarded by Oberlin to a senior athlete from a women's team who has demonstrated outstanding athletic achievements as well as leadership skills, academic excellence, and community involvement. Following her remarkable career, Hammons was named to the 30th Anniversary NCAC All-Decade Team in 2014. Excelling beyond the court, Hammons was a two-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic honoree, earning All-Academic recognition in 2005 and 2008. 

While at Oberlin, Hammons was also involved with the Oberlin Opera Theater, Oberlin College Choir, and was a SongWorks Student Instructor. 

A 2008 graduate and member of the conservatory, Hammons earned a Bachelor's of Music Education with a Choral Emphasis and Voice Performance minor before completing her Master's of Music and Human Learning at the University of Texas Austin in 2010. Hammons is a music teacher in Omaha, Nebraska while also performing in a local choral group. She resides with her spouse Alan, and three children Jacob, Caleb, and Eli. 


Greg Mangan '09
Greg Mangan established himself as one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in Oberlin College football history during his four-year career from 2005 to 2008. 

A four-year letterwinner and two-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection, Mangan remains the only quarterback in program history to surpass 7,000 career passing yards, finishing with 7,002. He is tied for first in school history with 48 career touchdown passes and holds the program record with 591 completions. His career completion percentage of 63.3 percent also stands as the best in Oberlin history. 

Mangan delivered one of the college's best individual seasons as an Oberlin College quarterback in 2006, completing a school-record 67.4 percent of his passes while setting the program's single-season passing record with 2,404 yards. He also produced two additional top-nine passing seasons, throwing for 2,236 yards in 2007 and 1,869 yards in 2008. Mangan concluded his career ranked second in program history with 6,794 yards of total offense.

With Mangan leading the offense, Oberlin recorded two of the three highest single-season yardage totals in school history, compiling 3,804 yards in 2006 and 3,853 yards in 2007. He helped the Yeomen post a pair of 5-5 records, marking the program's most successful seasons since the 1974 team finished 5-4.

Following his playing career, Mangan remained closely connected to football. He began his coaching career in the San Francisco Bay Area, serving as a volunteer assistant coach and videographer at City College of San Francisco in 2009 before coaching quarterbacks and defensive backs at St. Ignatius College Preparatory in 2010.

Mangan returned to Oberlin in 2011 and spent two seasons as the Yeomen's quarterbacks coach. In 2013, he joined the football staff at Stanford University, where he coached for nine seasons. He worked with Stanford's defensive backs from 2013 through 2017 before moving to the offensive side of the ball to coach quarterbacks from 2018 through 2021.

Mangan, an English major at Oberlin, later began a career in education. He served as an English teacher and head junior varsity football coach at St. Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco. He currently teaches English and serves as the head football coach at Convent & Stuart Hall, also in San Francisco.
